What you get with Plus
Priority matching queue
When you tap "Ready to Chat," Plus members move to the front of the line in their age group, so you wait less between conversations. Crucially, this is about speed, not selection: you are still matched with the next available person, at random, within your own age band. Plus does not let you filter by gender, location, or anything else, and it does not change who you are paired with, only how soon.
Higher video-quality ceiling
Your camera can send at a higher bitrate: a sharper, smoother picture for the person you are talking to. Free chats use a sensible default that keeps things fast for everyone; Plus roughly doubles your personal ceiling. Because your video flows through Lumi's own media server, this perk tracks a real cost (bandwidth) instead of hiding it, which is exactly how we think monetization should work.
Cosmetic flair: orb skins and accent themes
Make Lumi feel like yours. Plus unlocks the ability to apply cosmetic orb skins and accent themes that recolor the interface: the glowing Lumi orb and the app's highlight color. These are purely decorative: they change how Lumi looks to you, and they never give any advantage in a conversation. Individual cosmetics are also available a la carte in the in-app shop; Plus is the membership home for self-expression.
A subtle Plus mark
A small, tasteful "Plus" mark shows you are a supporting member. It is a thank-you and a quiet signal of belonging, in the Discord Nitro spirit, not a status weapon. It never affects matching, moderation, or anyone else's experience.
You keep an independent service alive
Most consumer apps are paid for by surveillance advertising. Lumi refuses that model: there are no ads, no trackers, and no data brokerage, ever. Plus (along with the optional Room Pro upgrade and one-time cosmetics) is how Lumi funds itself directly from the people who value it, the same proven path as Proton, Signal, and Discord, so the product can stay private and free for everyone else.
What Plus is not
These are hard lines. Plus will never include any of the following:
- No paying to choose, reveal, unblur, or de-anonymize another person.
- No gender or demographic match filters behind a paywall.
- No "extra matches," pay-to-skip, or other pressure mechanics.
- No reduced moderation, age checks, or safety for paying users. Safety is never a tier.
- No ads and no data sale, for members or for anyone else.
Room Pro: a room that stays
A free group room is generous and temporary: it holds up to 20 people, with 4 on camera at a time and everyone else in by voice and text, and it is forgotten two hours after the last person leaves. That is right for a room you opened this evening, and wrong for a room that is somewhere people come back to.
Room Pro is a per-room upgrade, at $9.99 / month, that makes one room:
- Permanent. It does not go away when it empties. The same room, at the same code, whenever anyone opens it.
- Bigger. It holds up to 50 people, with 6 on camera at once instead of 4.
- Yours to name. A vanity code (LOUNGE rather than Q7XKMN), so the Lumi Link for it is one people can remember and type.
- Dressed. A banner and a theme of your choosing at the top of it.
It is bought per room, not per person, and anyone can be in it: the people you invite need no account and pay nothing. Cancel whenever you like and the room reverts to an ordinary one at the end of the period you paid for. Nothing about safety changes inside a Pro room: the same age check, the same moderation, the same Report button.
A promoted room: a place on the front page
Room Pro keeps a room alive. A promotion helps people find it. It puts your room on Lumi's front page, marked Promoted, with a way straight in, and it keeps the room open for as long as the promotion runs even when nobody is inside. A day is $3, a weekend $6, a week $15, and a month $45, or any number of days at $3 a day. You can start it now or book it for a date up to sixty days out.
Six rooms can be promoted at a time. Adult rooms only, and the rooms Lumi itself keeps open are not for sale. The two stack: a Room Pro room can be promoted, and while it is, it keeps everything Pro gave it. More about promoting a room.

The yearly Plus price is about two months free. Cancel anytime; what you paid for stays active until the end of the period. Payments are processed by a trusted card processor, and Lumi stores only an opaque token and your membership status, never your card number, name, or address. Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Vertcoin are accepted too, at the price shown when you check out.
